Focused Medical Expertise
HMS provides superior medical expertise in defined situations such as:
A - review and analysis of health care delivery issues, and
B - improving health disparities in targeted populations.
Past Performance:
HMS was awarded a contract by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that is designed to improve the quality of care and reduce the disparities, specifically related to diabetes mellitus and chronic kidney disease. This work involves a multi-faceted approach, which includes recruitment of participating practices and eligible beneficiaries, development and execution of approved intervention programs, and development of strategies for successful sustainability of the program.
Through a contract with the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals (OMHA), HMS provides administrative support in the form of recruiting, credentialing, and coordinating utilization of expert witnesses for the OMHA Regional Field offices throughout the country. We provide specific medical expertise:
1 - to review cases,
2 - answer interrogatories,
3 - render testimony, and
4 - provide technical advise on focused medical matters.
Continued recruitment and credentialing are conducted to maintain an adequate pool of expert witnesses.
